Global Hand Washing Day 2012




RSF Dhaka Project celebrated “Global Hand Washing Day” today on 15th October 2012 with Save the Children and Nari Maitree at school. At 10:30 AM the program began showing Hand Washing cartoon of “Meena” by Unicef. Hand washing with soap is the single most effective way to prevent diarrhea and acute respiratory infections (ARI).


At 11 AM 100 students learned the techniques of hand washing and washed their hands. This technique has been developed by the World Health Organization and every one around the world washes hands in this way. This technique removes all dirt, bacteria from hands, fingers, finger nails, and wrist.


At 11:45 AM Students participated in a 2 Km long rally with the guests from Save the Children and Nari Maitree.  
The Rally started from RSF Dhaka Project School, passed Kazi Bari Moore upto Chairman Bari and returned to School again.

People passing through the street were also taught the techniques hand washing with soap.

At 2:30 PM Parents were also taught the techniques hand washing with soap.

Race for Survival

Save the Children (International) Every One Campaign arranged World Marathon Challenge 2012 at Gulshan Youth Club Play Ground on 12 October.


15 participants of Every One Campaign Dhaka Project Team participated in the program. More than 20,000 children across 42 countries will take part in Save the Children's Race for Survival, a global relay race to raise awareness on the urgent need to tackle child malnutrition.

Hand Washing Week


Hand washing week is being observed by RSF Dhaka Project.  “Global Hand Washing Day” is on 15th October 2012.  Students washed their Hands with soap with the washing techniques taught by   Dr. Jahid Hossain, Dr. Amirul Islam, Masuka Faria ( Counselor), Sheuly Akter (Jr. field officer). This is the single most effective way to prevent diarrhea and acute respiratory infections (ARI).

Health Class for Grade-6 & 7



Health Class for Grade-6 was held on 29th September and for Grade-7 on 01st October 2012 at RSF Dhaka Project School. They were taught about Polio, Measles and whooping cough. The children as well as their parents would be able to recognize the diseases if affected in their family or neighborhood. It was conducted by Dr Amirul Ialam and Masuka Faria (Family Counselor).
