Cookies Distribution at Pre School
29th May 2010, Students of Daycare, Play Group & Nursery were busy in their classes. At 12:00 PM Cookies were brought.
Student's were surprised when Mr. Azad distributed cookies among the students.
The Cabin Crew members of Emirates Airline brought these cookies from Dubai through on flight to Dhaka.
The Dhaka Project is always grateful to them and also to all the anonymous donors in Dubai.

Captain Werner’s visit to TDPS
Captain Werner Linshalm, Emirates Airline Pilot and Sponsorship Manager (Dubai & Austria) visited The Dhaka Project on 4th March 2010.
He spent a busy day visiting the Dhaka Project School and having an important meeting with the staffs of TDP.
He also carried gifts of the Sponsors all the way to Dhaka from Dubai. The sponsored students shared their feelings with Werner and thanked him as well as the respective Sponsors.
The students also requested him for frequent visit to Dhaka. Captain Werner left Dhaka in the evening. It was a very short visit to Bangladesh.

25 contestants of ‘Meril Splash and Personna: Inspiring Freshness’ visited TDP
25 female contestants of "Meril Splash and Personna: Inspiring Freshness" visited TDP on 12 Feb. 2010. The grooming session of the beauty contest was jointly organized by Square Toiletries Ltd. and Personna (Beauty Parlour).
Events like story writing competition and working with the underprivileged children were arranged to test not only the contenders outer beauty, but also their inner capabilities which, are the prerequisite to be beautiful.
The female contestants were divided into 5 groups, each group consisting of 5. Our 5 admin officers acted as guide.
The female contestants spent their time teaching, playing, acting, dancing and singing with the TDP students.
They were introduced with Day care, Play group, Nursery, Senior Grade, Medical Centre, Grooming Section etc.
The students of TDPS spent the whole day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. and had a different type of experience.

GIFT & DONATION
It happens often that visitors come at TDP suddenly with handful of gifts & donations. Kimberley and Stephen flew to Bangladesh as they are cabin crew of Emirates Airline and visited TDP with some gifts for the kids.
However, their brief hang around the project couldn't resist them to have fun with the kids and share a photo session with them.
Before leaving they donated BDT 4000/= to the project and promised to bring more gifts next time; they are keen to sponsor some children as well.
TDP always respects these good hearts!!!

SECOND VISIT FROM EK FOUNDATION

Mr Mohammad Alkhaja, The Vice President of Emirates Foudation, Mr Keith Longstaff and Mr. Hanif Zakaria, Area Manager, Bangladesh visited The Dhaka Project on 23rd November.
The Project Director, Korvi Rakshand , took th
em to a tour around the whole project. Due to shortage of time they could not visit all the sections of the project. After looking into the Main Office and TDP School of the project they didn't waste anytime to move towards the Emirates Foundation College.
Mr. Alkhaja talked with the Principals about the student's performance and ability to grab the Cambridge Curriculum. He was surprised to see the fluency in English of the students.
In addition to that Mr Hanif took the honor to introduce Mosharof to the rest of the visitors mentioning about their trip to Germany to attend the International Student's Festival. After taking photos with kids of different classes they moved to the Day Care and Nursery.
The Project Director explained the daily routine of the kids, activities and how we approach these young kids to give them basic knowledge of phonetics.
The tour ended in the Sewing Center, where the parents of our kids work and get trained. Mr Alkhaja talked with Korvi about the future prospects of the section.
Mr. Al Khaja was so impressed that he mentioned about increasing the amount of the donation for these underprivileged children and to Make A Difference in their lives.

LYNDA'S VISIT
A month of stay in the girl’s hostel made Lynda really close to the girls.
She wanted to know these girls and spend her time teaching them.
Though she got sick due to weather conditions in Dhaka but still she continued to give ideas about life. Most of these girls were forced to get married and The Dhaka Project members chased their parents to resolve the problem and make them understand the rules of Bangladesh against the age limit of the girls. Without the girls hostel they would have been in a much difficult condition, being wives at the age of 13... or less. The girls were very worried about their maturity problems where Lynda gave them simple solutions.
The girls found her in the form of a friend, a sister and a mother; making it easier for the girls to share their problems.
The girls are much more relaxed and focussed towards their studies.
Lynda arranged a number of Football matches on the Thursdays where the kids enjoyed playing for their respective schools (The Dhaka Project School & The Emirates Airline Foundation College).

NORTH SOUTH UNIV VISITS THE DHAKA PROJECT
Dear North South University Social Services Club,
We here at The Dhaka Project want to thank you all so much for 29 of your members coming out and seeing our operations at The Dhaka Project. I am sorry that we had
closed down for a holiday today, but I hope that you nether-the-less enjoyed seeing what has been achieved here within less than 3 years.
We want to thank you for the change you want to make in your country, this country needs selfless leaders like yourselves - people who want to stand up and help the large majority of people living below the poverty line. It was so refreshing to see such a large devoted group of people like yourselves.
We will be in touch soon with more ways that you as individuals can come and assist, we hope that this is just the start of a wonderfully successful relationship between The Dhaka Project and your club.

VISITORS ENJOYING OUR WORK
15 foreign volunteers from Australia and France came and visited us on Saturday, 10th May.
They throughly enjoyed their visit especially having lunch with the kids in the canteen and seeing the Korail slums. Positive feedback all round; already some of them have asked when they can come back and help out. And we've got a real boost because one of these volunteers wishes to help us set up the medical centre for the slums - an old dream of ours and very much needed.
The Dhaka Project volunteer who is deeply involved in the Project and the team in Dhaka felt more than happy for having had this group of volunteers visiting us. At the same time this was a test for future possible tours run by us to help the project get more income towards self sustainability as well as raising awareness.
Thank you to these visitors for sharing their time with us and our kids and for the positive feeling their visit caused on us all.

MIA VISITS FROM EMIRATES
Mia Jang, a flight attendent from Emirates Airlines dropped through on her layover to donate some clothes from Dubai and give the children a visit. She abolutely loved her visit so much that she said "never have my cheeks hurt so much from smiling, the visit made me so happy."

UAE AMBASSADOR
Two days ago amazing people gave us the honor to visit the project.
The UAE Ambassador, Emirates Country Manager and Dhaka Airport Manager. After a project visit by Maria, a warm welcome from the children, the visitors came to EK College where a students show was prepared for them.
Just before leaving, the Ambassador announced he was sending today a truck full of food. The Airport Manager bought 170 kg of rice. And Mister Hanif from Emirates? He is a constant support for the project.
Can you imagine he spent his entire "birth day" 2 years ago at the hospital with Maria, saving the life of Shamota...
Shomota came back from abroad where she has been mistreated..... Maria and Anif took care of her helping to give her back a basic sense of dignity!
The same Shamota couple of months later. Now she is happily married and has a baby ;-)
