Zaklina donates to The Dhaka Project


28th August 2010, An Emirates Airline Cabin Crew Zaklina send gift items for The Dhaka Project. The gifts included Stationary items such as pencils, writing books, Color pencils etc. She also donated her digital Camera too. All the gift items were collected from Hotel Westin, Gulshan, Dhaka by Volunteer Manager Mr. Shafiqur Rahman Jewel. Thanks to Zaklina for the Donation.

The Dhaka Project School is on Eid Vacation


22nd Aug 2010, it’s the month of Ramadan in Arabic Calendar. Sunday was the last day of School. The School shall remain closed from 23rd Aug to 14th September, 2010. All students will be able to enjoy Eid after the month of Ramadan. Usually many of the students go to their village to share the joy of Eid vacation with their parents, relatives and neighbors. The students enjoy the vacation most. Happy Eid Vacation to all 500 Children and their parents from The Dhaka Project. The office shall remain open for all administrative works.

Results of Pre Mock Test of Board Completion Exam


22th August 2010, results of Pre Mock Test of Board Completion Examination were published by the School Authority of The Dhaka Project School (TDPS). The Students of Class 5 & 8 will undergo Board Completion Examination on November 2010. Parveen Sultana, Principal of TDPS distributed prizes among the students who stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the exam. The Teacher’s Coordinator, Class teacher and other teacher’s were also present. Ms. Parveen Sultana, Principal of TDPS distributing 1st prize to Sabuj Mia (ID-398) of Class 5B (in the picture). Happy Akter and Jewel Uddin stood 2nd & 3rd. In class 8 Mosharof Hossain, Saddam Hossain and Nushrat Jahan stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd. In Class 5A Shahadat Hossain, Motasim Billah and Shah Alam stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd. And in class 5C Al Amin stood 1st . Weaker students were cautioned for getting poor grades. The teachers were pleased with the students securing higher grades in the examination.

Weekly Food Distribution


22nd August 2010, it is the last day of school. The Half Yearly Examination is over. It is also 11th Ramadan (Fasting) in Arabic Calendar. As the school shall go on a long vacation, the students were provided with double quantity of foods. Usually every Thursday is a Weekly Food Distribution Day of The Dhaka Project School, but as exam was going on and Sunday was the last day of School, so it was decided to give food bags on Sunday. Students were lined-up according to their grades as usual. Names were called by Mr. Azad based on the weekly class presence. Bags containing Rice, Lentil, Potato, Onions, Garlic & Eggs were distributed among the students from 2:00 P.M.
Bag full of weekly diet food recommended by TDP Medical Centre reduces the burden of nutrition among the student’s family. Every food distribution day is a happy day for the student’s of TDPS.

British Women’s Association, Dhaka (BWA) Sponsors Text Books.


British Women’s Association, Dhaka (BWA) donated a cheque (An amount of 45,015 Taka) on 29th July 2010 for the purchase of Text books for Class 1 & Class 8. BWA visited The Dhaka Project School (TDPS) on 23rd April, 2010. The school programs of The Dhaka Project impressed the visiting Team of BWA.
Ms. Katie Brown handed over the cheque to Assist. Sponsorship Manager Kazi Touhid Elahi. The students of Class 1 & 8 are very happy and Thanks BWA for sponsoring the Text books.

Cookies & Lollipops Distribution at Pre School



17th July 2010, Students of Daycare, Play Group & Nursery were busy in their classes. At 10:30 A.M. Cookies and Lollipops were brought.
Students were very happy when Mr. Azad distributed cookies and lollipops among the students. The Cabin Crews of Emirates Airline bought these cookies and lollipops for the children of The Dhaka Project through Emirates Airline.
The Dhaka Project is always grateful to them.

Elma Shalloo donates Gifts to The Dhaka Project



14th August 2010, Emirates Airline Cabin Crew Elma Shalloo visited The Dhaka Project School at 1:00 P.M. She brought Gift items including Charts, Fun Games and Working Books the students of The Dhaka Project. It was her first time at The Dhaka Project. Thanks to Elma Shalloo for the Donation.

Tara Fazelbhoy volunteers for The Dhaka Project.



14th August 2010, Tara Fazelbhoy, a teacher of Dubai Autism Center, the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization in the United Arab Emirates visited The Dhaka Project School (TDPS) at 1:00 P.M. Dubai Autism Center was founded in 2001 serving children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Tara has volunteered for The Dhaka Project from 7th August to 11th August 2010 at the TDP School. She also brought Gift items including Cloths, Stationary items, toys, dolls etc from Dubai. Staffs of Dubai Autism Center donated these items for the students of The Dhaka Project. Thursday - Weekly Food Distribution Day



It is the first day of Ramadan (Fasting). 12th August 2010 was the Weekly Food Distribution Day of The Dhaka Project School. Students were lined-up according to their grades as usual. Names were called by Mr. Azad based on the weekly class presence. Students of KG-1 to Standard 8 are walking back home with the food bags.
Bags containing Rice, Lentil, Potato, Onions, Garlic & Eggs were distributed among the students from 3:00 P.M.
Bag full of weekly diet food recommended by TDP Medical Center reduces the burden of nutrition among the student’s family. Every Thursday is a happy day for the student’s of TDPS.

Agvieszka donates to The Dhaka Project


09th August 2010, Four Emirates Airline Cabin Crews Agvieszka, Chloe Grace Heaney, Amanda Cole and Sigrid lleva visited The Dhaka Project School at 2:00 P.M. The Crews brought Gift items including Cloths, Stationary items etc from Dubai. Anonymous donors donated these items for the students of The Dhaka Project. Agvieszka Grzywnowicz (Poland) donated 500 AED (Arab Emirates Dirham) to The Dhaka Project. Thanks to Agvieszka Grzywnowicz (2nd -Left) and the anonymous donors in dubai for the Donation.

Half Yearly School Examination Starts from 08th August.



08 August 2010. Students of The Dhaka Project School are busy answering the question papers. It’s the Half Yearly Examination of the school. Students of Class 1, 2, 3, 4 & 7 are attending the exams on Science, Religion, English Literature, Bangla, Math, Social science, Physical Education, Arts & Crafts, and Agriculture & Home Economics.

Examinations of all class started simultaneously from 09:00 a.m. All the students studied hard and now it is time to assess them on the exam papers.

Kjell Kristiansen donates to The Dhaka Project

04th August 2010, Parents of Anne, Norwegian Volunteer, visited The Dhaka Project School at 3:00 P.M.
Anne is working on how to manage more sponsors for the students of The Dhaka Project.
She is helping the Sponsorship Desk and also spending some time in the School Library pasting the catalogs.
Father of Anne, Mr. Kjell Kristiansen gave 10,000 (Ten Thousand) Taka as a donation and also donated stationary items including Pen, Eraser, Writing books etc for The Dhaka Project students.

Apples Distributed by Volunteer Clotilde

04th August 2010, it’s Very hot in Dhaka-----32 degrees.
Students of The Dhaka Project School (TDPS) are busy in the class.
It is Monthly Fruit distribution day. At 10:15 A.M. basket full Apples were brought.
Ms. Clotilde, Portuguese Volunteer sponsored the Fruit Distribution Program of August 2010. She also distributed apples with Mr. Azad among all the 500 students.
The students were advised to wash the mangoes before eating. Fruit distribution day is always the happiest day of the month.
The fruit distribution was promoted by a Volunteer named Ferre, The Dhaka Project is continuing the program every month from its own fund. Sometimes Volunteers sponsor the program.

Awareness program on demerits of Early Marriage, Session-2

31th July 2010. Awareness program on demerits of early marriage, Session-2 was held on the roof-top of The Dhaka Project School at 11:00 A.M. Female students of Class 7 and 8 were present for the pre-scheduled awareness program.
A 2 hour long session on the demerits of early marriage included early pregnancy, HIV positive, discontinuation of school education etc. Faria (TDP family Counselor) organized the program and took the session. Such program on awareness draws a positive impact on the minds of the students and makes them more conscious about health and future.
